Prospective Students
I welcome graduate students who are creative, independent, hard working, and willing to challenge themselves intellectually. I am particularly enthusiastic about advising prospective students interested in the topics relating to the ecology and evolution of plant-animal interactions, and their community and biodiversity consequences, and who want to integrate multiple approaches for understanding natural systems.
There are a diversity of questions and study systems employed in my lab, mainly focusing insect-plant interactions. Recent graduate students have published their papers in major international journals including Journal of Animal Ecology, Oecologia, Oikos, Functional Ecology, Ecological Entomology, Annals of Entomological Society of America, Biochemical Systematics and Ecology, Population Ecology, Ecological Research.
Excellent research facilities are available including common garden, greenhouse, shield glass chambers, outdoor cages for field experiments, and mass spectrometers, DNA sequencers, HPLC, GC mass for data analysis.
